Released in 1985, both on "Greensleeves 12" and on the "Greatest Hits of All Time" album, Freedom Fighter is a song that has the ability to spark activism in almost anyone. My version of the song embodies well known "freedom fighters" of African descent both on the continent and in the diaspora. I've also included the likes of Mahatma Gandhi and Che Guevara for their, perhaps controversial, works on the African continent. The purpose of the song is to honor those who fought and are fighting for their liberty the world over.
